Michael - Violin teacher
🎻 Hey there! I’m Michael ✨ A violinist who’s spent more than 18 years (yep, over half my life!) learning, teaching, and occasionally wrestling with this beautiful instrument we call the violin. I teach a wide range of students—from wide-eyed elementary school kids who think the bow is a magic wand (they’re not entirely wrong), to seasoned professionals from the International Symphony Orchestra who just need a fresh perspective or a new challenge. My specialties? Classical and Iranian styles—think Bach meets Persian poetry. Whether it’s an in-person lesson or a virtual session, I bring energy, creativity, and just the right amount of dad-joke humor to keep things fun and engaging. I’ve learned that every student is wonderfully unique. Some learn by ear, some by sight, and some by sheer willpower and snacks. My job is to meet them where they are and help them build confidence, technique, and a genuine love for music. So, if you’re ready to explore the world of music—where passion meets precision and learning comes with a side of laughter—let’s make something amazing (and slightly magical) together!
Meet Michael

My teaching approach combines classical foundation with expressive techniques, focusing on bowing skills and rhythmic accuracy. I offer personalized violin lessons in Baroque and Fiddle styles. To enhance learning, I integrate tech tools like DAWs, Metronome Apps, and Virtual Violin Apps. Following diverse curricula such as A-Levels, AP, and IB, I cater to a broad audience of 50+ students at all levels, including kids, beginners, intermediates, adults, and advanced players. I emphasize hands-on learning, ensuring students grasp violin techniques effectively. Utilizing Ear Training Software and Looping Software, I enhance rhythmic precision. Students benefit from Fingerboard Chart Apps for position mastery and PDF Sheet Music Libraries for comprehensive learning. With Orchestral Accompaniments, I create immersive musical experiences. By using Violin Tuner Apps, I help students develop pitch-perfect skills. My methodology not only fosters technical proficiency but also encourages expressive playing, nurturing each student's unique musical voice. With a structured yet adaptable approach, I guide students through musical exploration, helping them connect emotionally with their performances. Whether introducing beginners to their first notes or refining advanced players' skills, my goal is to inspire a lifelong love for violin music, shaping confident and expressive musicians in the process.
