About your music teacher
Hi, I'm Garret Fernandez, and I have loved teaching for many years. I have worked with a wide variety of students, helping them to accomplish their goals. I try to make every lesson engaging and fun, so that the students enjoy their time as well as learn a ton of music! Let's jump right into playing some piano, I will help you learn to read and appreciate all the different sounds we can make with the keyboard. I have a very structured path to success but I am also able to adjust the lesson plan depending on the needs of the students, as everyone is different in what they excel at and what they have difficulty doing. I am very patient and understanding and the lessons will never be stressful! I can help students not only learn to play, but also to understand the music, which is just as significant! Looking forward to meeting you and beginning this journey!

Music lessons at a glance
My teaching method involves slowly building up all the right techniques, ideas and concepts that will ultimately help you to teach yourself so that you will never be lost even when you no longer have a teacher. I specialize in theory, sight-reading, and ear training. I have many tricks and methods to making all this much easier, and I progress in a fashion that builds upon each previous lesson. But I will never go too fast or brush past things that are important. We will take as much time as we need to learn the material and then when we both feel that we are ready to move on we will do so. I had many great teachers through college and beyond, even to this day I work with some of the greatest musicians in Las Vegas, so I have learned my pedagogical techniques from other very well respected musicians. I myself perform here in the city as well as give lessons.
