Hi! I’m Emer, a passionate guitar tutor with over 15 years of experience. I’ve been playing since I was 7 and instantly fell in love with the instrument. Since then, I have completed all 8 classical guitar grades (with distinction) alongside teaching myself acoustic and fingerstyle guitar. I recently finished university and am excited to return to teaching. My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, focusing on technique, musicality, and confidence. I have found that these focuses keep students engaged and make my lessons as productive as possible. I specialize in classical, acoustic, fingerstyle, chord progressions, and ear training. My teaching approach is centred around support, prioritising flexibility and student-focused learning. I believe making mistakes is a vital part of learning, and I create a space where students feel comfortable to ask questions and grow. I incorporate ear training into lessons to help build a strong musical foundation—especially helpful when reading music becomes challenging. With a diverse background in classical and acoustic guitar, I draw from a wide range of techniques to support each student's goals. I'm familiar with classical syllabus and beginner techniques to get you started on your guitar journey. I am also fully equipped for remote learning via Zoom, Google Meet, and more. No matter your level, I’ll work with your schedule and help you feel proud of your progress every step of the way.
