I am Kanhu Kishore Nanda, a postdoctoral fellow at Chennai Mathematical Institute. I have completed my doctorate from TIFR Mumbai in theoretical physics. Other than studying physics, I love teaching physics. I have taught students across middle school, high school and college. I have helped them understand the topics, in their homework and in their exam preparation. I enjoy teaching physics for many reasons, but one of the main reasons is testing Feynman's razor- you have not understood a topic if you are unable to explain it in a simple way. When I see students grasp that particular topic that they are struggling with, the question they are finding difficult, it brings me joy. Physics is first and foremost a study of the world around us. From the legend of the apple falling on Newton's head to humanity sending rockets to the moon, everything has physics in it. Because of this reason, I try my level best to bring as much of the outside world into the lectures as possible. Physics also goes beyond intuitions that our macroscopic bodies have evolved to have. And to go beyond that, we need the language of mathematics. Consequently, I ensure that my students learn the requisite mathematics for the topics at hand and can apply the mathematical tools to solve problems. So, whether it is exams or the good old curiosity about learning the wonders of the world, success will not be elusive with my teaching.
