Jose - Know your guitar teacher

I'm Jose Gonzalez, a seasoned guitar tutor with over 10 years of experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels! My musical experience began as a guitar player for a rock band in high school out of a small garage like many others. After years of playing the hunger to learn more about how music works pushed me to pursue a career and acquire a complete understanding on music as a subject. My approach covers everything from Chord Progressions to Music Theory, and can be catered to all levels of skill and understanding of the instrument. From pattern recognition to stress-free practice sessions. Whether you’re a total beginner or picking up the guitar again after a long break, I’ll guide you step by step, at your pace, with a focus on music you actually want to play. Let’s make learning guitar something you look forward to—not something you have to squeeze in. Ready to start?

Guitar lessons quick guide

My teaching approach is built for real life—perfect for working professionals and young parents who want to learn guitar without stress or long time commitments. When life is busy, the last thing you need is to feel stuck. That’s why I teach with a strong focus on momentum. Every lesson builds on the previous one, and you’ll always have a clear sense of what to practice next. Even five minutes a day can move you forward if the practice is focused and intentional. I place a lot of emphasis on celebrating small wins. The first clean chord change, the first time a strumming pattern clicks, the first full song you play from start to finish—these moments matter. They’re the building blocks of long-term progress and long-term enjoyment. I break lessons into short, clear steps you can do in just a few minutes, using simple explanations and music you actually enjoy. No jargon, no pressure—just steady progress at your pace. Whether you’re squeezing in practice after work or between family moments, I’ll guide you with patience, encouragement, and a focus on small wins that keep you motivated. Let’s make guitar a fun, flexible part of your day.
