Korina - Get to know your vocal coach
I've been teaching an array of students for 17 years now. I'm high energy, very optimistic, and believe positivity will always teach better than negativity. I prefer to foster an environment where students feel confident in trying new things, and are NEVER afraid to make mistakes! I'm truly passionate about both music and teaching, so I believe I've truly found my calling as a music instructor. RCM training, music therapy, musical theory, composition, ear training, breath control, I do it all! As someone who has studied music for almost the entirety of her life - vocal for 25 years, piano for 23, and musical theory for 19 - I understand the desire to improve, while also having fun. Music is something that should be enjoyed, and if it isn't, something is amiss! The truly beautiful thing about music is the connectivity it offers; it matters not what language you speak, or what faith you keep. All over the world, despite our differences, EVERYONE speaks the language of music!

Singing lessons highlights
I'm very strict on breath support. Learning to breath and utilize the diaphragm properly is essential to a long, healthy singing experience, so that is always my main initial focus. The warmups start out quite physical, as when it comes to our voice, our bodies ARE the instrument! We have to make sure they're warmed up! I try to always encourage students to laugh at mistakes. There is NOTHING wrong with making mistakes; they're how we learn! There is NO such thing as a stupid mistake, and there is definitely NO such thing as learning too slow. Everyone learns at their own pace, and I always make sure to maintain patience, for students of ALL ages. Encouragement is key. As the student, it's not YOUR job to understand something; it's MY job to make SURE you understand! I'll explain the same thing a hundred different ways until we find a way that makes sense to you.
