Wayne - Know your english tutor

My experience as a teacher/tutor of the English language (ESL) started with the desire to connect cultures through language. Through emphasis on empathy and authentic interaction, I have helped countless students, regardless of their circumstances, build fluency. A defining chapter of mine was my volunteer work in rural Costa Rica, where I taught English to children in underprivileged communities. That experience solidified my conviction that education should be accessible and engaging. I now combine creative thinking, cultural understanding and pragmatic techniques to help students feel powerful and turn language into an instrument of connection and possibility. Learning a second language opened doors for me, and now I help others open theirs. I genuinely love what I do. I'm excited to have you in my upcoming class! Thank you!

English classes overview

I teach English as a second language with respect, rhythm, and relevance. My method combines structured drills with engaging activities to help students feel the rhythm of the language, rather than just memorizing it. I focus on pronunciation, cultural differences, and how to talk to people in real life, using rituals and poetic cues to help students remember what they've learned. In each lesson, students engage in conversations with one another and construct meaning together. This helps them build confidence. I use empathy and strategy to meet different needs, always trying to make English a bridge instead of a wall. My calm, patient presence makes a safe space for growth, where students feel heard, supported, and inspired to take big steps on their language journey. where every word brings us closer together. It will be my pleasure to help you!
