About your spanish tutor

Que Tal! My name is Vanessa and, together, we can work on the next Spanish goals you plan to achieve. With a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Culture Studies, my journey with Spanish has taken me on adventurous journeys to Spain, Paris and Japan and I have traveled confidently to eco-touristic destinations such as Huatulco, Oaxaca in southern Mexico and witnessed hundreds of baby turtles enter ocean shores for the first time. Spanish and traveling can be very exciting! My specialties are in literature / writing composition and I have experience working with children and adults from beginning to intermediate levels of Spanish. Whether you need a refresher, help with homework, or need guidance with a project or essay, I can help bring your strengths to the surface. I look forward to meeting you and falling in love with Spanish all over again. Hasta pronto!

Spanish classes highlights

As your tutor, my goal is to boost your confidence by helping you find the fun in what you are learning. As fluency and comprehension are general goals many of my students strive for, my approach begins with a general conversation in Spanish about what you've done in your day and what you would like to accomplish before the day is over. I also like to demonstrate vocabulary and writing techniques using a white board to provide clarity. Furthermore, if a student wishes to share a particular assignment or material they are struggling with, I can expand on that topic by providing other examples or approaches that can make that concept easier to grasp. I am flexible and, though I highly encourage conversations in Spanish to strengthen vocabulary and pronunciation, I am happy to speak in English if student requests it. Note: It is highly recommended to put yourself out of your comfort zone and speak in Spanish so that I may identify weaknesses and help you correct them. You can do it! "Tu puedes!"
