Hello! My name is Jacob Platt and I've been playing for over 20 years. I offer personalized guitar lessons for beginner and intermediate students, kids and adults alike. I focus on technique, theory, performance, and songwriting. I teach electric and acoustic guitar as well as bass, and am proficient in picking techniques and fingerstyle. I'm currently involved in a Post-Hardcore band in the Milwaukee area called Darling Among the Machines and and also release solo music under the monikers Vera Cruise, Tomorrow William River, and Empty Bliss. I have a love for alternative/indie and heavy/extreme music but I teach all genres! I can help you master death metal or black techniques just as easily as I can help you learn to play country or the blues. Whether you're looking to troubleshoot your technique to get better than ever, learn all of the ins and outs of theory on guitar, learn to write a song, or you're just beginning and aren't sure where this thing is headed, I'd love to work with you! I enjoy learning new things and meeting my students where they're at while meeting their excitement and fostering growth.
